Itinerary
We will pick you up after breakfast in your hotel in Arusha, and we drive towards Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch we head into the Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive.
The park is well known for its unusual tree-climbing lions and herds of elephant. The park is also home to hippos, baboons, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, and is particularly good for bird watching, with over 380 species having been recorded.
Our next drive will starts shortly after breakfast with a scenic drive up the Rift Valley escarpment to Serengeti National Park. You will be crossing Ngorongoro Conservation Area and we make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge (optional) and the museum, which documents the discovery of 1.8 million year old human-like fossils. Thereafter we head for the Serengeti National Park, game driving along the way to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Your early Morning breakfast will be served at the Tented Camp / Lodge. After breakfast, we will drive again into the mighty Serengeti Plain. Many of the animals’ you will observe during this morning exploration will be returning from their nightly search for nourishment. The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates this great park. During your drive, you will also see Golden-mane Lions, Solitary Leopards who hunt near the acacia trees, and of course, your experienced driver-guide will continue his quest to find members of the “BIG 5”.
Once you have completed your morning drive, you will return to the lodge and partake in rest and relaxation. Around 12:00, lunch will be prepared for your enjoyment. After lunch, you will again go back to the plains for a wonderful afternoon game drive. Your late afternoon game drive will provide you with a various feast of wildlife, which is offered on the Serengeti Plain.
After your exciting game drive, you will return back to your Lodge and experience another wonderful evening dinner and overnight. All meals will be served at the lodge.
After breakfast, with your boxed lunch from the lodge you we will drive and have a final exploration of the amazing Serengeti National Park. Then we will head towards the Ngorongoro National park with a game en route at Ngorongoro conservation area. You will also have a chance to stop at Masai boma, a traditional Masai village (optional) to experience and learn the cultural life of Maasai people. Later evening, you will arrive at the edge of amazing Ngorongoro crater where you will find your over-night destination at the crater rim.
After breakfast, we will decent 600m into this magnificent crater for a morning half-day game drive. Ngorongoro crater is home to an estimated 30,000 wild animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black Rhinos. The crater has a dense population of predators like the Lion, Cheetah and the elusive Leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch at the Ngoitokitok springs while watching the beautiful hippos in and out the small spring lake in the crater. After lunch we will proceed with an afternoon game drive while we make ascend out of the crater and drive to Karatu for our overnight destination.
After breakfast we collect our lunch boxes and depart for the Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This African National Park is also home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, as well as a few Ashy Starlings. After a picnic lunch we do an afternoon game drive.
We will enjoy early morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park, followed by breakfast at the lodge. We will then transfer back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha will we have lunch and then we will end our African safari adventure. Remember to tip our guide as you may like. You will be taken to your hotel, which ends our safari services.
